How To Self Isolate In Style (And Still Be Comfortable)

The world is a very strange place at the moment. Our routines no longer exist and the majority of us are working from home. For me, the novelty of sitting in my pyjamas all day quickly wore off, I ended up feeling like a bit of a slob. In order for me to be productive, I needed to put some actual clothes on and make myself look presentable. I think I’ve finally found a happy medium between looking put together and feeling comfortable.

Luckily, I’m working from a laptop so I’ve been enjoying a change of scenery every few hours – moving from my desk, to the kitchen table, to the sofa. Wearing anything too restrictive is a definite no no, so I’ve been opting for comfortable leggings or wide leg pants on my bottom half, and a loose t-shirt or jumper on the top.

These pimlico pants* from Saint + Sofia are something I have been reaching for all throughout lockdown. Aside from being super comfortable, they have a smart, tailored finish. I particularly love the high waist that ties at the front. I pull these on with a simple white t-shirt like this one from Primark and I feel all monochrome-chic.

For cosy comfortable days, you can’t beat a hoodie. I love this one from Zara because it features the name of one of my all time favourite movies on the front. It’s actually from the men’s section in the size XS, but it fits me perfectly – slightly oversized so its nice and snuggly, and long enough to cover my bum! This hoodie is currently out of stock but I definitely recommend checking out the men’s section in Zara for something similar.

For extra comfort I’ve paired the hoodie with my Ivy Park leggings that I got from TK Maxx. I love how these feel, they have a stretchy fit and a high waistband. They can be worn casually or for working out (I’ve definitely worn them more for lounging).

Another t-shirt I love is this easy stripe tee in grey*. It is so so SO soft and works with pretty much anything on your bottom half. The rose-gold stripes are a nice touch too. It’s perfect for lounging around in but feels a bit more luxe than your average tee. I’ve tucked it into a pair of black culottes from Primark to finish the look.

This t-shirt also comes in a sweater* version too! It’s a cotton material so is lovely and warm. The fit is also really flattering, I love the length of it.

I’m generally a cold person so I love nothing more than adding a blanket, jumper or hoodie for an extra layer on top. Another option would be a comfortable jacket like this biker style* one with leopard detail.

What’s great about this jacket is that it can be smartened up or down. I can wear it with wide leg pants or leggings now, and dress it up with tailored trousers post-quarantine. It’s actually a lot thicker than it looks and has a fuzzy lining to keep you warm.

The jacket looks good worn open or zipped up, and I absolutely LOVE the leopard detail on the shoulder and cuffs. I’ve also got my eye on the matching pants* to finish off this chic but comfortable look, but they work equally as good with my pimlico pants*.

Last but not least, the camo pant. These are a great alternative to jeans as they are a lot less restrictive, in a softer cotton material and a cropped fit. I picked up this pair from New Look in the sale – a great addition to my wardrobe for casual days. Again, they have a high waist and look great with a plain white tee.

For me, casual and comfortable always wins. What looks have you been rocking at home? What makes you feel the most productive?
