It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post so I thought it was time for a catch up! I’ve just had my 32nd birthday so I wanted to share what I got up to. One of my absolute favourite things to do is go away for the night, have a nice meal and a relaxing stay so that’s exactly what we did!
Swine, Dine & Sleep
The Impeccable Pig is a restaurant and pub with 10 gorgeous rooms. The restaurant serves delicious, bistro style food, with a fine-dining twist.
The bedrooms are subtly themed with a tale or two behind them and some extra special features (the 7ft beds themselves are HUGE!).
We stayed in ‘Globe trotter’, a stunning room with feature panelling, a freestanding copper bath and a massive walk-in shower. The luxurious bed is made with soft Egyptian cotton bedding and faces a 55-inch wall mounted flat screen TV. There’s also access to a coffee machine, lots of tea and a minibar. Outside there’s a patio with some seating and a hot tub.
I took three of my vintage LV goodies with me (including my new MM Montsouris backpack that I got for my birthday for more about this bag, watch this video).
My Louis Vuitton Keepall 55b always goes with me on any overnight stay or weekend getaway. It’s the perfect size for me (I don’t travel very light) and I love how it looks. It’s from the 1980s so the quality is excellent. Another piece I always take with me for travel is the Louis Vuitton Trousse 23 – the perfect makeup bag. It holds all my daily makeup and is such a robust item.
We booked dinner for 7pm and sat down for a delicious 3 course meal and cocktails. These were our selections:
Pigs in Blankets
Fried brioche, rocket, pork crumble, honey & mustard dressing
Soft shell crab, keta caviar, avocado, pimiento pepper, lemon & herb
8oz 30 Day Mature Hereford Fillet Steak
Served with watercress, tomato, fries, roasted shallot & bernaise sauce
Surf & Turf
With jumbo king prawns
Trio of mini desserts
Sticky Toffee Pudding, Strawberry & Mascarpone Cheesecake & Tonka Bean & Hazelnut Ice Cream, Grillotines Cherry, Praline, Salted Caramel & Strawberry Tuile Sundae
It’s fair to say we were absolutely stuffed! But every part of the meal was incredible. We couldn’t eat the desserts straight away after the main meal (we needed a little while to digest) so we had the trio of desserts delivered to the room.
The stay includes bed & breakfast and you can choose to eat the next morning in the restaurant or room. We chose to have it to the room so we could enjoy some breakfast in bed! I chose the pancakes with berries and my fiancé had the Full English. Both were served with freshly squeezed orange juice.
All in all, a perfect stay and one I would definitely recommend if you’re in the Sedgefield area.
This was not a gifted stay and I have not been paid to post this.
