I am generally a very casual dresser. A tshirt and jeans is my staple outfit and most of my clothing is from the high street. However, I like to elevate my looks with high end accessories. I can throw on a blazer, a preloved handbag and a designer belt and it just takes things up a notch!
I’ve always thought I was a big wallet kind of girl. I have so many store cards, I hoard receipts “just in case” and keep everything and the kitchen sink inside my purse. I’ve come to realise that I use about 20% of the cards I have, and the rest is just taking up room.
I now have a total of seven Louis Vuitton pieces so I wanted to do an updated collection video to show you each one in order of when I got them. I also thought it would be really interesting to go through how much I paid for each item on the pre-loved market and compare that to the retail prices. The amount I’ve saved is incredible!
Oxfam have launched #SecondHandSeptember – a campaign to try and discourage people from buying new clothing and accessories for the entire 30 days of the month. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the environmental impact of fast fashion and highlight the importance of limiting the amount of clothes we send to landfill.
I am a huge champion of vintage pieces, a sustainability enthusiast and a lover of buying on a budget. Most of my collection is second hand, so I am constantly on the lookout for pre-loved websites selling luxury accessories.
When I bought my pre-loved Neverfull one of the first things I wanted to do was get it professionally cleaned. It was in really great condition but I just wanted to make it feel as new as I possibly could.
Last week I spent a week in Santorini for my sister’s wedding – a breathtakingly beautiful Greek island in the Aegean Sea. I have never taken any luxury bags with me on holiday before, but this time I wanted to use at least one.
I love my classic Speedy 30 in the damier ebene print that I purchased pre-loved. I often use it for work as it holds so much – it really is a Mary Poppins bag! Watch my video and take a peek inside at what I carry with me on a daily basis…
I knew I wanted a handbag liner for my Neverfull for a few reasons…
–To protect the inside of the bag (its an expensive purchase and I don’t want to ruin it with stains!)
–To give the bag structure (standing up on its own, as opposed to sagging when it’s put down)
–To provide some organisation (using the pockets to separate my items)
Once the Neverfull became my go-to work bag, I felt like I needed something smaller for weekends or just those days when I didn’t need to carry a lot. After asking the ladies on the Facebook groups for their opinions, almost everyone recommended the Speedy.
