I am generally a very casual dresser. A tshirt and jeans is my staple outfit and most of my clothing is from the high street. However, I like to elevate my looks with high end accessories. I can throw on a blazer, a preloved handbag and a designer belt and it just takes things up a notch!
I’ve always thought I was a big wallet kind of girl. I have so many store cards, I hoard receipts “just in case” and keep everything and the kitchen sink inside my purse. I’ve come to realise that I use about 20% of the cards I have, and the rest is just taking up room.
I now have a total of seven Louis Vuitton pieces so I wanted to do an updated collection video to show you each one in order of when I got them. I also thought it would be really interesting to go through how much I paid for each item on the pre-loved market and compare that to the retail prices. The amount I’ve saved is incredible!
A Keepall has been on my wishlist for quite a while. For weekends away, I was lugging around a small suitcase which seemed a bit too much for most trips. A Keepall looked perfect for my needs, but I definitely didn’t have the funds to buy one brand new!
I’m so happy with the latest SLG in my collection – the Louis Vuitton Toiletry 15. When I first received it, I thought it might be a little small for my daily essentials. But, I’m actually pleasantly surprised with how much it can fit inside!
Oxfam have launched #SecondHandSeptember – a campaign to try and discourage people from buying new clothing and accessories for the entire 30 days of the month. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the environmental impact of fast fashion and highlight the importance of limiting the amount of clothes we send to landfill.
I am a huge champion of vintage pieces, a sustainability enthusiast and a lover of buying on a budget. Most of my collection is second hand, so I am constantly on the lookout for pre-loved websites selling luxury accessories.
I bought the Louis Vuitton Trousse 23 pre-loved from a seller on Facebook about 9 months ago. I was really impressed with the quality of the item, being a vintage piece from 1989 (the year of my birth!). However, I knew from the offset that it would be worn – I fully expected it to have a bit of an old smell and the hardware to be faded.
I finally got my hands on the Louis Vuitton 6 Ring Key Holder! It was on my wishlist for the longest time and is the only piece in my collection that is brand new direct from the store.
Personalising my agenda is a way to make it extra special; it also encourages me to use it a lot more! As you can see I’ve had my initials hot stamped in gold – this is a free service offered at Louis Vuitton stores. I’ve also found some really stunning stationary to use inside.
