It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post so I thought it was time for a catch up! I’ve just had my 32nd birthday so I wanted to share what I got up to. One of my absolute favourite things to do is go away for the night, have a nice meal and a relaxing stay so that’s exactly what we did!
The great thing about small leather goods is, they are a great way to dip your toe in and get a feel for a brand, before committing to a higher priced item like a handbag. You can pick up an SLG on the preloved market for a fairly affordable price and see how you get on with it.
I am generally a very casual dresser. A tshirt and jeans is my staple outfit and most of my clothing is from the high street. However, I like to elevate my looks with high end accessories. I can throw on a blazer, a preloved handbag and a designer belt and it just takes things up a notch!
I now have a total of seven Louis Vuitton pieces so I wanted to do an updated collection video to show you each one in order of when I got them. I also thought it would be really interesting to go through how much I paid for each item on the pre-loved market and compare that to the retail prices. The amount I’ve saved is incredible!
Oxfam have launched #SecondHandSeptember – a campaign to try and discourage people from buying new clothing and accessories for the entire 30 days of the month. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the environmental impact of fast fashion and highlight the importance of limiting the amount of clothes we send to landfill.
I am a huge champion of vintage pieces, a sustainability enthusiast and a lover of buying on a budget. Most of my collection is second hand, so I am constantly on the lookout for pre-loved websites selling luxury accessories.
Last week I spent a week in Santorini for my sister’s wedding – a breathtakingly beautiful Greek island in the Aegean Sea. I have never taken any luxury bags with me on holiday before, but this time I wanted to use at least one.
I bought the Louis Vuitton Trousse 23 pre-loved from a seller on Facebook about 9 months ago. I was really impressed with the quality of the item, being a vintage piece from 1989 (the year of my birth!). However, I knew from the offset that it would be worn – I fully expected it to have a bit of an old smell and the hardware to be faded.
